I used to, yes.
But I don't take time lately. I should do it again.
What language / lib do you use?

I use unity. I like it a lot and C# is really nice compared to the languages i usually have to use for my real work

Great
I am not found of it myself, but finding a tool that works and gets the job done is something nice.
I used to use Game Maker, so...
I since tried Raylib and Pygame among others, but I kinda lost the motivation.
Any video/demo yet?

Is that yours? It looks pretty cool.
Anonymous2023/02/09(Thu) 00:35:32 GMTNo.92 Switched from 2D to 3D and it's way easier to create assets and I'm having more fun. 2D animation is just way too time consuming when solo.

Isn't 3d way more time consuming? Making 3d characters look and sound like a huge pain in the ass when compared to just drawing or doing some pixel art..

The animation is the bottleneck. It's much easier to pose a 3D skeleton than having to redraw every keyframe for 2D, even more so if you make detailed pixel art like in this image. 2D also requires more work if you want your characters to be able to face multiple directions or have visible equipment. I find it easier to recycle assets and animations in 3D, while it requires bit more fiddling in 2D.
3D might have a larger initial barrier of entry, but it's less work in the long run.

nta, but you can also make 2D puppets you know.
Anonymous2023/02/13(Mon) 23:25:47 GMTNo.98 >>97
Yeah if you're not doing pixel art that can be a good alternative.

Well, you may want to have a look at this video then:

I've seen that one before but it doesn't look viable for higher res pixel art and you still need to use traditional 2D animation. If you're doing low res pixel art, it could help with recycling and reskinning animations. It's a pretty cool idea though.
BN342023/02/24(Fri) 00:04:36 GMTNo.105 that's very cute anon, i'm soon going to start making mine as well.

With 3D, couldn't you do some pre-rendered sprites like in Donkey Kong Country?
Anonymous2023/02/27(Mon) 03:54:23 GMTNo.110 >>106
Yes and a lot of 2D games have done this, but why not just make a 3D game if you're working in 3D already.
