Just completed DUSK. Really liked this one, even since I haven't been playing retro-shooters too much in the past. The atmosphere and OST here are fukken brilliant.

It is the ultimate game for redpilling youngins on good taste in my experience.
Anonymous2023/08/31(Thu) 02:17:28 GMTNo.244 Mainly been playing Postal 2 these days, trying to complete Paradise Lost. My mechanical skills are dogshit and I still don't have the hang of grenades.

Somehow, graphics are worse than games from 20 years ago. I hate when muh retro games do this. Trying to emulate the feeling of old games by wilfully making your own game look like crap (when old game devs did everything they could to make their game look as good as they possibly could at the time) just feels like laziness.
That being said
How's the gameplay itself? I keep hearing about the game, but I'm put off by its looks (obviously)

The controls in the game are fucking pleasant, all the mechanics of movement and shooting are smooth and work like clockwork, you get used to it very quickly, also gameplay itself is dymanic and fast. But at its core, it’s nothing special: you kill everything in your path and look for the keys (there're also some funny special features tied to certain levels, but I wouldn't like spoilering). I like that nothing is overloaded, there are about 10 types of weapons in the game (not counting various throwable objects), and each is tailored to the right situation and has its own features (although you quickly throw sickles and a pistol into the trash, they are needed only as a starting arsenal). >graphics
I dunno, I really loved the style. Those low-poly textures evokes pleasant sensations in me, bringing back memories of games mostly from the PS1 era. The design as a whole is tasteful. Although the emphasis is on faded and gray colors, the very correct and rare use of glows and effects makes incredibly rich accents where they are needed.
Anonymous2023/11/06(Mon) 03:52:40 GMTNo.372 Finally giving TF2 a try. Either I'm well and truly hard-headed or Heavy is just not my thing, but I don't seem to be improving at the class. I cannot stop the Medic from dying no matter how many bullets I spray.
Anonymous2023/11/23(Thu) 04:34:55 GMTNo.382 Replaying Super Punch Out and wondering why the fuck this genre of game hasn't gotten the indie remake treatment yet. Compared to something like a platformer or shmup it'd be a breeze for a small dev team, and the interactions of the opponents breathe soul and allow for constant little gags.
Anonymous2023/12/02(Sat) 01:36:01 GMTNo.389 Replaying Deltarune Chapter 1 and wondering why I got obsessed with it. For a story that's supposed to be about the protagonist's alienation from their real life and "their" adventure that's ABOUT them but not FOR them, they really wasted an opportunity with them to relate with Lancer on the tool-disguised-as-character Susie. You could cope and say that's "the point," but obviously not since that's what they did a chapter later with Spamton, their feelings bleeding through how they bend your commands.
Anonymous2023/12/11(Mon) 19:21:18 GMTNo.398 File: do people stil(...).PNG(249 KB, 677x557)I don't really care about this game, but how long is Team Salvato going to milk Doki Doki Literature Club. He's gone probably six years without any other projects, right?
Anonymous2023/12/29(Fri) 22:58:51 GMTNo.411 hl1, hl2, maybe some other valve game.
would rather take tf2 than trendjumpnite
Anonymous2024/01/16(Tue) 03:08:36 GMTNo.419 Still have some thoughts on Deltarune Chapter 1. What Chapter 2 does wrong is it abandons the plotline of Susie giving up her violent defense mechanisms for the sake of her friends in lieu of just having her as a perfect loudmouth friend over the course of a single day. Toby could have justified his lesbian ship and made Susie feel far more realistic if he had just built up the start of their real friendship and had that come between her and throat-punching Berdly.
I haven't gotten to the Hometown section yet(more dogshit at the Jevil fight than I remembered) so I don't have any further thoughts on the characterization of the other Lightners.
Anonymous2024/01/16(Tue) 22:36:08 GMTNo.420 >>419
Catti has a bit more of a...sarcastic but warm flair to Kris in this chapter, compared with her laconic, equally cold behavior in Chapter 2. Maybe that's just because her family is there. Her sentences actually sound like sentences, rather than her trying to come up with poetry on the spot. That could be interesting if it's some sort of coping mechanism for her in stressful situations, but I doubt it'll be used as such.
