Now that 4chan is finally dead (allegedly), how do you even find all the other chans and imageboards or whatever else that feel similar? This place is the only one I know of.

All the degeneracy should be there, I wouldn't feel at home without it. But what I really want is something similar to those slower hobby boards, where people actually talk about what they're eagerly interested in, and where surprisingly smart insights occasionally shine through all their crudeness and degeneracy.

I just want some cool places to lurk time to time....

I think Heyuri is the only true 4chan-like experience left (it's in the 2005ish style). But the mods are bipolar and I'm not sure I trust them to keep the site sane. For example, despite the ruleset, they decided Ai trash is A-OK nowadays.

There are plenty of options for nu4chan. Notably the soy site and 8shit.

This really only leaves here as anything even remotely 4chan-like as far as I'm concerned.

To me, it is because the point of imageboards is to share and discuss interesting contents (frankly, not even just images, even though that's an important part of it), rather than regurgitate as much low-quality slop as possible. This requires unique thoughts and drive behind the posts and the images that are posted, i.e. there should be intent.
Thus there are acceptable uses for AI posting in rare cases only.

Original thought can just be some stupid pun you just thought about, a dumb idea you've had, etc., but none of that can come out of AI generated shit. When it does, it still wouldn't make sense to share it, but it would make sense to use it for entertainment and to be inspired by it (because even when quality becomes so high it is human-grade, the qualitative nature differs).
